What is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP)?
A chiropractor who has special interest and postgraduate training in preventing and correcting sports related injuries. Sports chiropractors work with athletes at all levels, from professional athletic teams to amateur and weekend athletes. Athletes interested in preventing or managing injuries and achieving maximum athletic potential can benefit from chiropractic care from a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.(CCSP).

Dr. Trumpi, as a Chiropractic Sports Physician has the ability to instruct athletes in rehabilitative procedures and athletic training principles, as well as to evaluate and treat typical sports and recreational injuries. She also understands the importance of getting a person back to their sport or activity as quickly and safely as possible.

Dr. Trumpi, as a Chiropractic Sports Physician has been trained in:

  • sports psychology and principles
  • exercise and fitness
  • nutrition, diet and supplements
  • examination and radiology
  • rehabilitation and adjustments
  • CPR and emergency procedures
  • upper and lower extremities

Certification is provided by the ABCSP: American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ www.acbsp.com
The CCSP® (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®) certification include a 120 hour postgraduate program

Upon successful completion of this course, doctors have:

  • A greater awareness of the responsibilities of the sports/team physician
  • The ability to instruct athletes in rehabilitative procedures and athletic training principles
  • The capability to evaluate and treat typical sports and recreational injuries
  • The ability to treat athletes in emergency situations, both on-field and in-office
  • A working knowledge of the clinical biomechanics and physiology involved in specific sports
  • In depth knowledge in treating extremities, from adjusting to taping to rehabilitation.
